This application (Word Adventure) respects and protects the personal privacy of all users of its services. The application will process your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and protect it diligently and prudently. The application will not provide your personal information to unrelated third parties, except where it is processed by a service provider expressly identified in this Policy to deliver a feature you use, where you have given separate consent, or where laws and regulations otherwise provide. The application may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. This Policy is an integral part of the application's Terms of Service.
This update adds information about the submission and storage of in-app feedback. Independent sign-in with a Huawei account on HarmonyOS devices processes only a one-time authorization code and UnionID/OpenID. It does not obtain the phone number, email address, nickname, or profile picture linked to the Huawei account.
1.1 When you use the application's online services, the application automatically receives and records information about your device, including but not limited to your IP address, device model, operating system version, and network type, as well as your learning and usage records within the application, such as memorization progress, answer results, saved unfamiliar words, and records of words answered incorrectly.
1.2 Information you voluntarily provide to the application includes, but is not limited to, WeChat authorization information and an anonymous Apple ID identifier submitted when signing in, registering, setting a nickname, or purchasing a membership, as well as the UnionID/OpenID obtained when you sign in with a Huawei account on a HarmonyOS device.
1.3 When you choose to use the in-app feedback or word-error reporting feature, we collect the feedback category and content you submit and the email address you voluntarily provide. A word-error report also includes the relevant word identifier and issue category. To identify the issue, we record your current learning language and associate the feedback with the account you are signed in to. This information is used to address your comments, issues, or suggestions. If you provide an email address, we also use it to contact you, respond, and follow up. You can submit feedback without providing an email address, but we may be unable to reply by email. Unless laws and regulations otherwise provide or we obtain your separate consent, we will not use your feedback email address for unrelated marketing or promotion.
You understand and agree that this Privacy Policy does not apply to the following information:
2.1 Conduct that violates the law or the application's rules, and measures the application has taken in response to your conduct.
3.1 Network permission: Used for core features such as account sign-in, synchronization of learning progress, membership purchases, and loading dictionary definitions and pronunciations.
3.2 Storage/photo library permission: Requested as needed only when you choose to export a word list, save a learning report, or save an image for sharing.
3.3 Microphone permission: Requested only when you choose to use the repeat-and-record feature. It is used to record and play back your pronunciation on your device so that you can compare it with the example audio. Recordings are stored in the application's temporary directory and are not uploaded to our servers.
3.4 Notification permission: Requested only when you choose to enable “Daily Learning Reminders,” to display learning reminders at the local time you select. Reminders are scheduled on your device, and no device push token is collected. You can turn them off at any time in the application settings or system settings.

5.1 The application will not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with unrelated third parties. To provide features such as sign-in, payments, analytics, and fault diagnosis, we provide the relevant service providers with the information necessary to deliver their services for the purposes listed in Section 4 of this Policy, and require them to process it in accordance with applicable rules and their own privacy policies.
5.2 The application also does not permit any third party to collect, edit, sell, or distribute your personal information free of charge by any means. If any user of the application's platform is found to engage in such activities, the application has the right to terminate its service agreement with that user immediately.
5.3 With your separate consent, the application may send you information about products or services. Without your separate consent, it will not provide your personal information to partners for their independent marketing.
5.4 To process content you submit through channels such as user feedback and, when you voluntarily provide an email address, use it to communicate with you, respond, and follow up on the relevant matter.
In the following circumstances, the application will disclose all or part of your personal information in accordance with your wishes or legal requirements:
6.1 Disclosure to a third party with your prior consent;
6.2 Where sharing your personal information with a third party is necessary to provide the products and services you request;
6.3 Disclosure to a third party or an administrative or judicial authority in accordance with relevant laws or at the request of an administrative or judicial authority;
6.4 Where you violate relevant Chinese laws or regulations, the application's Terms of Service, or related rules, and disclosure to a third party is necessary;
6.5 Where you are a qualified intellectual property complainant and have filed a complaint, disclosure to the party complained against at that party's request, so that both parties can address a potential dispute over rights;
6.6 Other disclosures that the application considers appropriate under laws, regulations, or website policies.
Account information, learning data, and in-app feedback records collected by the application's service servers are stored primarily on our servers. The third-party services listed in Section 4 process relevant information in accordance with their respective service architectures and privacy policies. In particular, Google Firebase services may process and store information in countries or regions where Google or its agents maintain facilities. We will make reasonable efforts to require service providers to adopt security measures consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
8.1 The application stores account sign-in credentials locally in encrypted form. Account and learning requests, as well as in-app feedback requests in newer versions, are transmitted between the application and its service servers over HTTPS. Some older versions may send feedback through mail servers; we recommend updating to the latest version.

9.1 The application provides account registration. You can register and sign in to the application with a WeChat account or Apple ID. On HarmonyOS devices, you can also register and sign in independently with a Huawei account. Each sign-in method is initiated separately from the sign-in screen. Signing in with Huawei does not require you to sign in to WeChat first and does not automatically link a WeChat account. To register: Sign-in screen > Select the relevant sign-in method.
9.2 If you wish to delete your account, your account information, membership status, and associated cloud data, including learning progress, your unfamiliar-word list, records of words answered incorrectly, and achievements, will be deleted and cannot be recovered. Local data will not be deleted automatically; you can uninstall the application to delete it. To delete your account: Profile > Delete account.
